Services Overview
Massage applied skilfully is an extremely effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system. It can be used to help manage existing conditions as well as help prevent injuries with might occur with overuse. Following a thorough assessment the treatments I use include soft tissue release, MET Stretching, Trigger point therapy and Myofascial release.
Low Level Laser Therapy or photobiomodulation works on the principle that every cell in the body responds to light. Laser therapy can be used to accelerate the body’s healing process and enhance recovery from soft tissue injuries, wounds, accidental or post-surgical and scarring as well as helping with reducing inflammation and pain relief. Laser can also be used to stimulate acupuncture points and is extremely effective in helping to neutralise infection.
Kinesiotape/Sports taping is an important tool for therapists in the management of musculo-skeletal injuries. With different applications to reduce swelling, decrease pain and help correct posture.
I use these therapies or a combination of them as appropriate to help people with a variety of conditions.
Practitioner Profile
I have always been passionate about animals and was determined from an early age to have a career in the animal therapy, after graduating with a BSc in Equine Science I completed a PGDip in McTimoney Animal Manipulation. I have been treating animals for more than 13 years combining McTimoney Therapy with massage, low level laser therapy and rehabilitation exercises. Several years ago I realised that owner/riders of the animals I treated could benefit from these treatments too.
